Pike Baptist Church Church Profile What is our Identity?

The people of Pike Baptist Church are a spiritually united family of members eager to serve the Lord and empowered by the Holy Spirit to teach, baptize, and disciple the community and surrounding area. Our church is one of the oldest in the county. Established in October of 1866. Pike Baptist is a traditional country church. We embrace traditional values and make every effort to hold true to the morals and intent of the scriptures. Sunday Services include Sunday School, morning worship service, and evening bible studies, all against the backdrop of traditional gospel music from the old Baptist Hymnals. Every individual who feels led to sing or give a devotional is supported and welcomed. Our Mission and Objectives are:
To help members realize their spiritual gifts and encourage them to use these gifts in the sharing of Christ (I Corinthians 12). To be a Church whose purpose is to be Christ-like in our daily living by emphasizing total commitment to the lordship of Christ (I Thessalonians 2:1-13). To help members grow in the knowledge of God and man through Church programs of worship, Bible teaching, training, education, and missions (Acts 2:42-47). To encourage members to support the ministry of the Church through personal stewardship (Luke 6:38).
Our basic statement of beliefs comes from the inspired word of God. This church subscribes to the current doctrinal statement of The Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 1963. This church is governed via an empowered congregation. Majority rules; as defined in the Church Constitution. The officers of the church are: Pastor, the Ministerial staff, the Deacons, a Moderator, a Clerk, a Treasurer, Sunday School Director, and Trustees. The Pastor is leader of pastoral ministries in the Church.
